      Bakkerspas Road, 530, WATERBERGE, VAALWATER

"Kololo Game Reserve is situated in the beautiful province of Limpopo, South Africa, in the heart of the Waterberg biosphere. Vaalwater is the closest village, 29 km of dirt road away from Kololo. It is a small rural village with a supermarket, curio shops, petrol station and one or two basic restaurants. Kololo borders to the Big 5 Welgevonden Game Reserve (located approximately 200 m from the reception and restaurant). Welgevonden Game Reserve is known for its wide range of different mammals. Welgevonden is home to more than 50 different species of mammals, including the Big Five. Kololo is A malaria-free area, child friendly and home to a large variety of game and therefore the perfect safari destination. Our knowledge about Kololo goes back to mid-1910. During this time a farmer called, Oom Piet, started farming in this area. He built the farmhouse during 1916, which still exists, completely renovated and called the ‘Oom Piet Chalet'. In the 1980's the Austrian investors started Kololo and the neighbouring farm, Grootfontein .Ton and Yvonne Jansen, (Dutch) bought Kololo Game Reserve (approximately 600ha) in the beginning of 2004. Kololo is a way for us to develop something socially Responsible. We love this area! It's malaria free, very quiet and child friendly. One is able to walk and ride bikes without any problems and we are still connected to a big five area.
